Tilapia is a good source of potassium, folate, vitamin D, and phosphorus. On top of that, it’s a good source of omega-3 fatty acids and low-fat protein. Undoubtedly, tilapia is good for us humans, but what about dogs? Can dogs eat tilapia?

The short answer would be yes, dogs can eat tilapia, but you do have to remove the bones, moderate the quantity of tilapia you give to your dog, and cook the tilapia before giving it your dog.

No Excessive Salt for Dogs!

If you cook tilapia for yourself, you most likely add quite a lot of salt to it, but don’t add a lat of slat to tilapia if you are  preparing it for your dog – salt is poisonous to dogs.

In conclusion, dogs can eat tilapia, but do keep in mind to remove the bones, and cook the tilapia before feeding it your dog.
