Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of dietary fiber, and a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin C, manganese and beta carotene. There’s no doubt that sweet potatoes are good for us humans, but what about dogs? Can dogs eat sweet potatoes?
Yes, dogs can eat sweet potatoes. In fact, because sweet potatoes are full of valuable nutrients, it’s rather good for dogs’ health (eating sweet potatoes is good for eyes) to have sweet potatoes in their diet.
Keep in mind, though, that sweet potatoes are also rich in carbs and sugar, and therefor you should not regularly feed large amounts of sweet potatoes to your dog as that could result in your dog becoming overweight.
Also, eating an excessive amount of sweet potatoes at once could upset your dog’s stomach and give her diarrhea.
In conclusion, while dogs can eat sweet potatoes, it’s not recommended to let your dog regularly consume excessive amounts of sweet potatoes.
