Noodles taste good and are quick and easy to make, that’s why they are loved by millions of people all around the world. What about dogs, though? Would it be okay to feed your dog noodles as well?
Can Dogs Eat Noodles?
Yes, it is safe for dogs to eat a small amount of noodles. Don’t, though, give your dog tomato sauce with the noodles as tomato sauce is likely to contain onions and/or garlic, which are both extremely toxic for dogs. Also, make sure that the noodles aren’t covered with hot spices as those wouldn’t be good for your dog’s digestive tract.
No Instant Noodles for Your Doggy!
While a small amount of plain regular noodles is fine for dogs, I would not recommend feeding your dog instant noodles. A recent study, published in The Journal of Nutrition, found that instant noodles are far from good for us humans (instant noodles increase the risk of cardiometabolic syndrome). Although, a dog’s digestive system is very different from the human digestive system, it’s best to be on the safe side and not feed your dog something that is dangerous even for us humans.
Noodles with Eggs Are Safe for Dogs!
So, no noodles with tomato sauce or instant noodles for your dog, but what about noodles with eggs? Would it be safe for your dog to eat noodles with eggs? Yes, noodles with eggs are safe for dogs to eat. In fact, eggs would provide your dog many valuable nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin B-12, iron and protein. Do make sure, though, that the eggs are thoroughly cooked as eating raw eggs would put your four-legged buddy in the risk of getting salmonella.
To sum it up, it would be safe for your dog to eat some plain noodles, but leave out the tomato sauce and never give your dog instant noodles.
