Can Dogs Eat Marshmallows?

If you like to occasionally treat yourself to a few marshmallows, you might wonder whether it’s something you can share with your dog as well. But can dogs eat marshmallows? Well, while it’s safe for dogs to occasionally have a marshmallow or two, marshmallows aren’t good for dogs to eat, and therefore it wouldn’t be a good idea to let your dog eat marshmallows.

Marshmallows and Other Sweets Are Not for Dogs

One regular size marshmallows contains 23 calories, and is mostly made out of sugar. If you’d regularly feed your dog such calorie rich food, it could lead to obesity and result in further health problems including heart problems and diabetes.

That being said, it’s clear that it’s not a good idea to give your dog marshmallows or other sweets.They won’t be beneficial for your dog in any way.

While 1-2 marshmallows won’t hurt a dog, it’s best not to let your dog eat marshmallows as they are full of sugar and don’t contain any valuable nutrients.

Thankfully, though, a few marshmallows wouldn’t be too bad for a dog to eat either, so, if you have given your dog a marshmallow or two, don’t be afraid. She’ll be okay! Next time, though, give your dog an healthier treat.

So, while it’s not dangerous for dogs to eat marshmallows, they aren’t good for dogs either, and therefore, it’s not recommended to give your dog marshmallows.
