Grapefruit might taste a bit bitter, but it does contain a lot of valuable nutrients, and that’s why we like it so much. The question is though, would dogs like grapefruit as well? Can dogs even eat grapefruit?
Grapefruit Is Toxic to Dogs
Unfortunately, though, grapefruit is not on the list of fruits that are okay for dogs to eat.
According to The ASPCA, grapefruit is toxic to dogs (cats and horses). If your dog would eat grapefruit, he/she would most likely start to vomit and/or get diarrhea.
What to Do if Your Dog Has Eaten Grapefruit?
If your dog has eaten grapefruit, it would be best to contact a veterinarian.
While there’s many fruits like apples, bananas and mangoes that dogs can eat, grapefruit is not one of them. This bitter fruit is toxic to dogs, and therefore it’s definitely for the best not to give your dog grapefruit.
